Alive (v8.0)
by Deon Potgieter
Pushing his foot down hard on the breaks, Bill's whole world seemed to veer into slow motion. The truck was blocking the whole road. He knew he would hit it. Turning the wheel he aimed for one of the trucks large back tires. At least that way he wouldn't go under it. Raising his arms up to his face, he could feel his safety belt holding onto him for dear life. The car folded as if made with paper and then all was quiet. Opening his eyes, Bill saw that he was still alive. The truck was now immediately opposite his smashed windscreen, but he was alive. In fact he had never felt quite so alive before and wondered if he would ever again.
