I said, "Let me see his email". She said, "why?" I said, "just to see it." She said, "I may have deleted it". I said, "you deleted it. Why would you delete it?" She said, "I don't know. I read it then I deleted it." I said, "you never delete your emails". She shrugged. "Do you," I said. She said, "I do. Sometimes." I said, "You've got emails that go back years, emails that you've had forever." She shrugged. I said, "Why did you delete this one?" She said, "I don't know. I didn't think about it. After I read it I just clicked delete and it was gone." I looked at her hard. I looked at her and said nothing for a long while until she said, "the button is right there, you know, big as life". Then I said, "I know exactly where the damn button is".
